Lost weapons in Iraq

How does this even happen? How does the U.S. Government just lose 110,000 AK-47 rifles, 80,000 pistols and 250,000 pieces of body armor and helmets in hostile territory? It also looks like we're missing heavy machine guns and rocket propelled grenades. This article says we don't know where close to 500,000 weapons are. Oops. 500,000 weapons is enough to outfit a very large army. One that could easily overpower our troops.

Are we trying to screw this up even more than it's already been screwed up? Or was this whole "attack" a clever ruse to supply yet another third world country with weapons that will eventually bit us in the ass?

Tired, so tired

This is a cross-post with cybrpunk@wordpress and cybrpunk.com.

Cats kept me awake most of the night last night. Our cat kept flopping on my face and has this strange fascination with putting it's ass in my face while I sleep. Plus we have a stray kitten that my wife caught and is keeping in the hall bathroom till it can be taken to the shelter. The kitten howled all night long. Truthfully I don't blame it. It's been taken from it's family living by the harbor and has been thrown into a bathroom. It's a decent size bathroom but still.

On top of that our main bathroom has a problem with the toilet. It was running constantly so I shut the water off to check the flapper and clean it. Which I did while it was still dark out this morning. Why not, I couldn't sleep anyway. So when I went to turn the water back on... nothing. No water. So I proceeded to turn the valve back and forth many times. Eventually the knob came off in my hand. This seemed bad but luckily water didn't start spraying out or anything. So I put it back and just got in the shower since my alarm would go off soon anyway.

So I got to work really early this morning. Hopefully it will work out so I can leave early too. Hopefully. I need a nap.

Movieland

If you live in Hong Kong (or anywhere else that has Movieland movie renatl stores) they have $10 Tuesdays where all movies are only $10. We rented and watched Letters From Iwo Jima last night and it was really good.

Check out my full review of the movie here.
